Are you a little skeptical of assisted suicide? Do you want to know what has happened in those states where it has been legalized? Inserted in the bulletin of October 30, is a "Voter's Guide for Serious Catholics" published by Catholic Answers, Inc. (If you did not get one, you can pick one up at the parish office.) It is provided as a help to our prayerful, serious deliberation in voting on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8. The guide does not focus on every issue that should be part of our reflection and so I also wish to direct you to the diocesan website (click the article title for the link). Elections are important. Let us not neglect this civic duty and privilege.

"America needs no words from me to see how your decision in Roe v. Wade has deformed a great nation. The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men....It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered dominion over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters. And in granting this unconscionable power, it has exposed many women to unjust and selfish demands from their husbands or other sexual partners...The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of anyone else, not even a parent or a sovereign."
