Next Sunday, November 15 (the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time) is the World Day of the Poor, established by Pope Francis in 2016. Thanks to all who remember the poor through their regular donations to the poor boxes at the doors of our churches. These gifts help our parish respond to the many requests we receive for emergency assistance.
Thanks to all those who donate to the Food Pantry each week, and to those who make monetary donations to the poor boxes at the doors of the church. The groceries and the funds collected allow our parish to help the needy of our community!

We are pleased to inform that permanent Poor Boxes have been installed at the doors of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. As permanent fixtures, the new poor boxes, marked “offering” will serve as a continual reminder of our duty to assist the needy. We remind all our parishioners to be generous and to make an offering as they enter or leave the church.
The Food Pantry Partnership will happily accept all types of nonperishable food and can always use pantry staples as well as basic hygiene and cleaning supplies. If you know of anyone in need please let them know that the pantry (located at St Raphael’s Parish Center (151 Gropp Ave, Hamilton) will be open from 9 to 11 am on December 29. Pre-registration is not required.
If you have books, clothing, diapers, formula, or other items that are looking for a new “home,” please do not bring them to the parish office. Instead, consider donating them to Mt. Carmel Guild or Martin House. Click the article title for contact information.
