We are dismayed at the Supreme Court’s failure to hold Louisiana abortion facilities accountable for their violations of women’s health and safety in the decision issued today (June 29, 2020), June Medical Services v. Russo. The Supreme Court has failed to hold abortion clinics in Louisiana to the same standard of care as every other surgical center in the state; in essence the Supreme Court has given a “pass” to abortion centers on health regulations. The 42nd Annual Ride for Runaways will take place from July 11 to August 22. For everyone’s safety the event this year will be a virtual bike/run/walk.
