Our parishioner, Salvatore Petro, is preparing for Ordination to the Permanent Diaconate. We are happy to share the news that Sal has fulfilled a significant component of the program which is principally academic—a three year study of theology. We are delighted to inform you that Fr. Joseph A. Tedesco, who served as Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows from 2003-2005, was elected the fifth Superior of Mepkin Abbey, a Trappist monastery located on the Cooper River outside of Moncks Corner, SC.
National Vocation Awareness Week is an annual week-long celebration of the Catholic Church in the United States dedicated to promote vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and consecrated life through prayer and education, and to renew our prayers and support for those who are considering one of these particular vocations.
