In commemoration of the presentation of the Lord in the Temple, you are invited to bring a white candle to Mass on the weekend of February 1-2 to be blessed. If it is too dangerous to go out, you are excused from the obligation to attend Mass on Sunday. Under severe weather conditions, you can decide not to come to Mass in good conscience and without the burden of guilt. Use good judgement; exercise caution and prudence when making the decision to travel. In severe weather conditions, the decision not to assist at Mass is not a matter for sacramental confession.
