At the 11 am Mass last Sunday—Catechetical Sunday—Monsignor announced that the recipient of Knights of Columbus Council 6213’s Catechist of the Year award was OLS-SA’s Angelo Milioto.
Dedicated to his Catholic faith and to his parish, Angelo has been a volunteer catechist for many years, but that’s not where his dedication stops. He is always quick to offer his knowledge and expertise wherever needed and is, in fact currently instrumental in livestreaming the parish’s Sunday Mass.
Thanks, Angelo—and kudos on receiving this well-deserved award!

(The following letter was received from the honoree.)
Msgr Gervasio and Mrs Francis,
Thank you very much for the recommendation and presentation of the Council No 6213 Knights of Columbus’s Catechist of the Year Award.
It is an honor to be a catechist, let alone receive an award.
We are fortunate at Our Lady of Sorrows - Saint Anthony's to have so many wonderful catechists. Perhaps the reason might be because of the leadership of our director and of course pastor. With over 300 students on the rolls, the religious education of our young public-schooled students is an important responsibility, which should not be taken lightly. Considering the low budget and minimal staff, it is amazing we achieve as much as we do. This pandemic has placed a great deal of stress on everyone, and our catechists have ventured into unknown waters for the most part and have sailed through for the better. Perhaps we might consider retaining some aspect of the virtual system once normalcy returns.
Long story short, thanks for all you do.
Angelo
