This Morning Prayer [Lauds] is taken from the Church’s Liturgy of the Hours, often referred to as the “Divine Office.” Clergy and those in consecrated life are obliged to pray it in order to sanctify each day, but it is a treasure that all of the baptized are encouraged to pray.
Public prayer in common is among the primary duties of the Church and so we are pleased to offer this opportunity for our parishioners and others to become of one mind in prayer. Deacon Salvatore Petro has graciously offered to lead this daily prayer.
Morning Prayer, like the other Hours of the day, is comprised of the Psalms, a brief Scripture reading, a Gospel canticle, and Intercessions. Why not give it a try? You are certainly encouraged to remain for the Mass that follows but you are welcome for Morning Prayer alone if that is what your schedule allows!
Join us because:
Your day will begin with the Lord.
