Annunciation of Our Lord
March 25
The Feast of the Annunciation celebrates the actual
Incarnation of Our Lord made flesh in the womb of
His mother Mary. The Archangel Gabriel appeared
before her, and asked her in the name of the Blessed
Trinity to consent to become the Mother of God. He
bowed respectfully before her “Hail, full of grace!
The Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among
women.” Mary said, “Behold, the
handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your
word.” The angel departed from her.
Following the
Annunciation, Mary pronounced she would become the
mother of our Lord. She then traveled to visit her
cousin Elizabeth who was barren, but in her old age
was with child. She had also received a message
from the Archangel Gabriel that she would give birth
to John the Baptist.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Throughout the year, the Rosary Altar Society
conducts regular monthly meetings and prayer
services, has guest speakers, and hosts a Day of
Recollection. Rosarians also make rosaries for the
missions, the First Communicants, area hospitals,
and other organizations upon request, launder altar
linens, clean and refill the holy water fonts, and
sell 50/50 tickets at the weekly OLS bingo - half
goes to the winner and the Rosary treasury receives
the other half. In addition, we conduct a Palm Cross
Sale, participate in the Annual May Crowning, donate
to the Family Thanksgiving Basket, and collect
donations for Adopt-a-Family at Christmas. These
are just some of the activities the Rosarians are
involved in.
Corporate Sunday is held on the first Sunday of the
month. The Rosary is recited at 8:30 A.M. followed
by the 9:00 A.M. Mass. All parishioners are invited
to recite the Rosary for our parish community, world
peace, an end to abortion and terrorism, for the
intentions of the Pope, and for the special
intentions of all those present.
The monthly meetings are held on the first Monday of
the month at 7:00 P.M. in the Church Meeting Room.
Because of Labor Day, the September meeting is held
on the second Monday. Meetings are not held in
January, July, or August.
Rosaries – Anyone
interested in learning to make rosaries, please
contact Betty Adamczyk at 586-6771. Rosaries are
sent to the missions, soldiers, and are given to the
First Communicants of our parish.
Prayer Shawls – The
prayer Shawl Group meets at 1:30 PM, the second
Monday of the month in the Church Meeting Room.
Prayer Shawls are made for patients in area
hospitals, assisted living facilities, and nursing
homes. If you or anyone you know is interested in
making prayer shawls, please contact Joyce Farina at
888-4516. If you have any completed prayer shawls
or if you wish to donate yarn, call Joyce, and she
will make arrangements to meet with you. We also
ask that you refrain from dropping off any completed
prayer shawls or yarn at the parish office, and
instead, call Joyce.
New members – New
members are always welcome to attend any of our
meetings and will be greeted warmly and friendly.
Being a Rosarian honors Mary as the Mother in whose
care Jesus has placed us, and our Lady’s blessings
will be without measure. Once you are inducted into
the Confraternity, you are a lifetime member. If
you are considering in joining the Rosary Altar
Society and have questions, please feel free to
contact any Board Member or Rosarian.
