Mary, woman of compassion
Mary, woman filled with grace,
You are friend to all the lowly,
God's own love within your face.

Be for us the shining bright star,
Be for us compassion's gate,
So we might share the hope that never dies,
The love that shatters hate.

Lady of Sorrows, of wisdom and of peace,
Teach us how our strivings all might cease.

As you carried Christ the Savior,
Loving Mother of our Lord,
Lived your life in humble service,
Ever open to God’s Word:

Be for us a living symbol,
Be for us a pathway true,
So we might carry one another,
Be faithful servants, too.

Lady of Sorrows, of mercy and of joy,
Teach us how oppression is destroyed.

Mary, Queen of endless glory,
Mary, servant of your God,
Come, help us follow in your story,
On the way that you have trod

So ever serving, ever humble,
We ever follow Christ with you,
To raise up all who fail and stumble,
Be shining lights as true.
